This presentation seeks to shed new light on the concepts of race and ethnicity by positing that current constructs do not account for the increasingly diverse population that is American society. Specifically, this presentations will focus on multiracial individuals who have been racially mislabeled and the effects thereof. Labels, whether accepted or rejected, hold great power and as a result, such implications and suggestions for Counselor Educators and Supervisors will be discussed.
